How a DV certificate is issued  Print this Article

A DV certificates is issued by sending an email to the registered email address for that specific domain name. For example if a customer purchased a RapidSSL certificate for www.bankofamerica.com the certificate could be sent to [email protected] or any other active generic email address. Once the client receives the email he/she must click on the confirmation link. Once confirmed, the certificate authority will send a second email with instructions on how to retrieve and install the certificate on the server.
