Backstage: SSL Installation Request

Due to a technical limitation of site5, you must use a dedicated IP and have them install the certificate for you.. If you are unhappy with site5 we recommend contacting www.ionblade.com.

1) Click the Add-ons tab from the top menu.

2) From here, click the SSL Installation link.

3) Enter the domain you wish to have the SSL installed for. This should be the same domain (CN) you used for the CSR. (wildcard *.example.com or www.example.com)

-Select the Type of install (first install or renew).

- Paste the certificate provide by your SSL athority. If they did not provided you with text version (normally via email) you can open the crt file with a text editor (like NotePad) and copy the SSL directly.

- Paste the Private Key provided to you during the CSR process.

- Paste the CA Bundle (aka Certificate Authority Bundle, root, or Intermediate), you can enter it here.

4) Acknowledge the fee involved for installing the SSL.

- If you have not already requested a Dedicated IP, you may request one by clicking this check-box. Note: If you already have one, you may leave this unchecked and skip to step 11

-Downtime is also possible with this process due to the DNS changes. Normally downtime only lasts 1-2 hours. During the downtime, you may see the default page for the server. If this happens, don’t panic. Your files are still there, the domain just does not know how to get to them yet.

- Select the IP Address Pricing/Term you wish to use and acknowledge the fees and propagation warning.

- Input the answers to your security questions.

5) Click the Submit Request button.

That’s it! A ticket will be opened on your behalf. Once the request is complete, the ticket will be updated.
