As allegations against RSA and its parent company EMC have grown over the past couple of months many of the conference keynote speakers have decided to withdraw from giving their speeches. The controversy began after Edward Snowden leaked documents about the secret methods of the NSA, one of which was that the NSA paid nearly $10 Million dollars in 2004 to enter into a secret contract with RSA to “implement a compromised random- number generator” as a default in one of their private key products.
Many people within the security tech industry see this as “serious problem that can destabilize our market “says Ash Buchan IT Director at www.sslguru.com. Some of the largest companies within internet security including Symantec , HP, and Intel still plan on sponsoring the event however keynote speakers including Josh Tomas from Altredis, Chris Soghoian from the ACLU and Adam Langley of Google have all rescinded their offer to speak at the RSA conference this year in San Fransicso.
